Relative Change Index: Derivation and Interpretation

چکیده
The measurement of change in mental health and substance abuse treatment has a long and controversial history. Currently, increased attention is being paid to this question because providers are being required to objectively document the positive impact of treatment. A good measure of change needs to be relatively simple and understandable. It should be sensitive to important changes and allow comparisons across individual clients, clinicians, and programs. Finally, it should incorporate risk adjustment so that individuals with more severe problems are not held to the same standards as those with few problems.
